Fayetteville Firefighters Respond to Two Incidents Sunday

Photos and information obtained from FAYETTEVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT

The Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department responded to two separate incidents on Sunday, according to the department.

At 7:00 a.m., Company 7 was dispatched to the 2000 block of Lincoln Way East in front of Kyner’s Auto Sales for a two-vehicle rear-end collision. Engine 7-2 arrived to find one vehicle had experienced a fire that was extinguished by a bystander prior to the crew’s arrival. Firefighters removed the driver’s door to allow EMS access to the patient.

Later in the day, just after lunch, Engine 7-2 was dispatched to northbound Interstate 81 near mile marker 20 for a vehicle fire. Greene 1 and Duty 15 arrived on scene to find a pickup truck on fire just south of Exit 20. Pennsylvania State Police and Duty 15 secured traffic, allowing Engine 7-2 to proceed the wrong way to reach the scene. The crew quickly extinguished the fire.

Photos were provided by Company 7, Clopper, and Knotts.
