FCMC Angels Benevolence Committee Raises $500 for Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance During Jeans for a Cause Day

October 6, 2026 – The Fulton County Medical Center (FCMC) Angels Benevolence Committee donated $500 during its Jeans for a Cause Day held on October 1.

FCMC employees participated by making donations in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans and pink-out attire, demonstrating solidarity with those currently facing breast cancer. Funds raised from the event were donated to the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance (CVBCA), a nonprofit organization that provides support and assistance to breast cancer patients and their families throughout the region.

The event held special meaning for the FCMC family, as several FCMC employees and family members are currently battling breast cancer. Staff members proudly wore pink to honor survivors, support those undergoing treatment, remember loved ones lost to the disease, and raise awareness about the importance of early detection and screening.

“The generosity displayed by our employees reflects the compassion and caring spirit that defines FCMC,” said Misty Hershey, FCMC Public/Community Relations Director. “We are proud to support the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance and the important work they do to assist local individuals and families during their breast cancer journey.”

The FCMC Angels Benevolence Committee is dedicated to supporting charitable causes and assisting individuals in need throughout the community, as well as their own FCMC Family. Through fundraising events such as Jeans for a Cause Day, committee members and FCMC staff continue to make a positive impact both within the organization and across the region. This past fiscal year, they raised $10,449.

October is recognized nationally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer, encouraging regular screenings, and supporting those affected by the disease.
