FDA Announces Multiple Product Recalls Due to Health Risks

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued multiple recall notices for several products ranging from pharmaceuticals to food items due to various safety concerns. These recalls affect various brands and have been initiated due to potential health risks.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is recalling two lots of Potassium Chloride Extended Release 750mg Capsules, available in 100 count and 500 count bottles, due to failed dissolution tests. This issue could potentially affect the intended effectiveness of the medication.

In the food sector, Foppen Paling En Zalm B.V. has announced a recall of its Smoked Norwegian Salmon Slices (8.1 oz, toast sized) because of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Feve Artisan Chocolatier, in collaboration with Dandelion Chocolate, is recalling their Chocolate-covered Cocoa Nibs (4 oz) due to the presence of an undeclared hazelnut allergen. This could pose a serious or life-threatening risk to consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to hazelnuts.

DSD Merchandisers, LLC, is also responding to an allergen issue by recalling their Deluxe Roasted & Salted Mixed Nuts due to undeclared peanuts, which are known allergens and pose a threat of serious allergic reactions.

Additionally, Totally Cool, Inc. is recalling various ice cream products after discovering Listeria monocytogenes contamination, which could pose significant health risks to consumers.

Lastly, Wildly Beloved Foods has initiated a recall for its dried orzo and dried campanelle products due to the potential contamination with mold, which could present health risks if consumed.

Consumers who have purchased these recalled products are urged to return them to the point of purchase for a refund. The FDA continues to monitor these situations closely and encourages consumers to heed these warnings and check for updates on their website.
