Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) has issued a safety recall for certain Firestone Destination LE3 tires, size 265/70R17.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected tires may have a belt edge insert that is out of position, reducing durability and potentially causing tread separation. The issue results in noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139, New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles. Tread separation can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace recalled tires free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 6, 2026.
Owners with questions can contact Bridgestone customer service at 1-800-847-3272.
Consumers can check whether their tires are included by entering the tire’s brand or model into NHTSA’s Recall Look-Up Tool.
