First Day Hikes Planned Across Region on New Year’s Day

South Mountain Partnership announced that First Day Hikes will take place on January 1, 2026, at state parks and local trails across the region.

The annual event features guided hikes on New Year’s Day and is open to people of all ages. The hikes are intended to encourage outdoor activity and time in nature at the start of the new year.

A list of First Day Hikes happening across Pennsylvania is available through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources event calendar at events.dcnr.pa.gov.
