CHAMBERSBURG — A father who has already served time for severely injuring his infant son by shaking him in 2008 is back in jail on first-degree homicide charges.
Jose Luis Tejada-Espinal, 36, of Chambersburg, was denied bail after appearing before Magisterial District Judge Glenn Manns Tuesday morning.
The child was 11 when he died on December 30, 2018. Franklin County Coroner Jeff Conner ruled the death resulted from the child’s 2008 injuries. The baby was seven months old when the shaking incident took place in April 2008.
Tejada-Espinal served six months in jail in 2009 after pleading guilty to child endangerment in December 2008 followed by two years probation, according to court records.
His preliminary hearing on the homicide charge is set for June 18 in Franklin County Central Court.
