The Franklin County Career and Technology Center offers a state-approved Workforce Development Program for 11th- and 12th-grade students to explore careers and gain hands-on workplace experience. The center says it is the only state-approved program of its kind in Franklin County.
Students can use Transfr virtual reality simulations to try tasks from different careers, connect with local employers and earn industry-recognized certifications. The program also helps students write resumes and cover letters and develop communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
The program supports students considering employment, apprenticeships, military service or further education after high school. Students must have reliable transportation to workplace experiences.
