The Franklin County Commissioners recognized the Franklin County Conservation District on Wednesday for 70 years of service to the region.
The Franklin County Conservation District was formally established in 1956 by local farmers, landowners and community leaders focused on conserving soil, water and natural resources.
Over the past seven decades, the district has worked with county leaders, agricultural producers, municipalities and residents to protect natural resources, improve water quality, support soil health and address erosion control.
The commissioners thanked the district’s staff, board members, partners and volunteers for their work and continued conservation efforts in Franklin County.
