Franklin County House Fire Results in Hospitalization

A significant house fire in Franklin County necessitated medical airlift for one individual on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred on the 100 block of Hykes Road East in Greencastle, prompting a response from the Rescue Hose Fire Company at approximately 3:20 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find flames issuing from the rear of the two-story residence. The blaze was successfully contained by 4:17 p.m., with fire crews clearing the scene by 6:22 p.m.

One victim was airlifted to a hospital due to burn injuries. Authorities have not yet released information regarding additional displacements or the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation.
