Franklin County Libraries Receive $3,500 Donation from Patriot Federal Credit Union

In a significant boost to local educational resources, Patriot Federal Credit Union has contributed $3,500 to the Franklin County Library System. This generous donation was aimed at supporting the library’s recent fundraising initiative, which successfully raised over $80,000. The campaign not only increased the financial resources available to the library but also expanded its community engagement, attracting nearly 500 new donors, both individuals and corporations.

The Franklin County Library System reported significant usage of its facilities and services in 2023, highlighting the community’s reliance on its resources. Over the year, the library saw 177,299 patrons utilize its services. A total of 233,144 print books were borrowed, while 49,572 electronic items were downloaded or streamed. The children’s section was particularly popular, with 137,269 items borrowed.

This financial infusion from Patriot Federal Credit Union will assist the library in maintaining and expanding its offerings, ensuring that it continues to serve as a vital educational and informational hub for the community of Franklin County.
