“Let There Be Light”

Even if it blanks out the sun? The City light plant pumped dark clouds of black smoke into Chambersburg skies Monday for several hours. Officials blamed the smog cloud on the need to use low-grade stock-piled coal and the extra firing needed to produce power with one boiler out of action for repairs.

“In the Social Realm–Club Reception”

Chambersburg – The Jubilee celebration at Wilson College means much to the town and the college but especially to the alumni.  At present writing there are registered at the college over one hundred and sixty graduates and ex-students, some of whom have not been hack to their alma mater and to Chambersburg since their graduation. 

This will beindeed a time of reunionin which the town people will wish a part.With this aim In view the Chambersburg branch of the Wilson College Club of Franklin county will hold areceptionIn the college gymnasium on Saturday evening at eight o’clock.All alumni, students and friends of the college are most cordially invited to be present.

That the Chambersburg club is very keenly alive to its responsibility. Providing for the enjoyment of Its many guestsisfurther demonstratedby the fact that partly to fill the lossoccasioned by the closing of the College Inn and also to provide an attractive and convenient place for reunion parties.

Several club members will serve tea and sandwiches in the upper club house on Friday and Saturday afternoons.The proceeds to be devoted to the endowment fund.
