Franklin Fire Company responded to two separate incidents Monday morning in Greene Township and Chambersburg.
At 8 a.m., crews were dispatched to Kohler Road at the railroad bridge in Greene Township for a tractor-trailer accident. The driver was transported by EMS for evaluation. Fire police closed the roadway while awaiting towing services. Officials noted that the “1914” marker on the bridge represents the year it was built, not its height clearance.
At 9 a.m., units were sent to the Chambersburg Waste Paper building at 2047 Loop Road for a reported fire alarm. The call was upgraded after multiple 911 reports of fire at the complex. Engine 43 arrived and located a smoldering paper bale outside the building. Command held Station 4 on scene for mop-up operations.
