Fulton County Appretiation Weekend

The East Broad Top Railroad is proud to announce the launch of County Appreciation Days, special weekends honoring our neighbors who surround our historic rail line. This summer-long celebration kicks off with Fulton County Days on Saturday and Sunday, June 21–22, 2025, when residents of Fulton County will receive half-price train tickets as a thank-you for being part of the railroad’s extended community.
Guests are invited to step aboard our beautifully preserved trains for a scenic ride through the Aughwick Valley, where they’ll take in the beautiful views of central Pennsylvania. In addition, visitors can explore the East Broad Top’s historic machine shop complex, a National Historic Landmark hailed by the Smithsonian Institution as “an incomparable national treasure.”

To receive the discount, residents of Fulton County should enter the promo code “fulton50” when purchasing tickets online at www.eastbroadtop.com. The discount applies to any General Admission Train Ride or Guided Shop Tour Only ticket valid for June 21 or 22. Residency will be verified onsite by presenting a valid ID (such as a driver’s license or utility bill) when picking up or purchasing tickets.
“The East Broad Top Railroad’s roots run deep in Huntingdon County and throughout the surrounding region,” said Brad Esposito, General Manager. “These communities built the railroad, worked the rails, and preserved its legacy through generations. We’re proud to offer a heartfelt thank-you with these County Appreciation Days.”

The East Broad Top was also, just recently, named the #2 Most Scenic Railroad, according to the USA Today Top Ten survey.

Beyond the train rides, visitors can also enjoy vintage trolley excursions at the neighboring Rockhill Trolley Museum, guided shop tours, and shopping at the East Broad Top gift shop, featuring railroad-themed and locally made souvenirs.

Tickets and train schedules are available now at www.eastbroadtop.com, and residents of Huntingdon County are encouraged to book early using promo code “fulton50” to take advantage of this special offer.
These weekends are our way of thanking the communities that surround and support the East Broad Top Railroad. Full details and scheduled dates for each county are available on our website at www.eastbroadtop.com.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
