Gettysburg Man Charged for Impersonating Officer

In Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, 53-year-old Jason La Barre is facing charges for allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer. The incident occurred at Sachs Bridge in Freedom Township on May 25. La Barre, while fishing, reportedly threatened to detain three teenagers, ages 12, 13, and 15, claiming they were trespassing and causing a disturbance.

He was seen wearing a badge and demanded to see their fishing licenses, despite the teens not fishing. Investigations confirmed La Barre is a security officer with no law enforcement authority outside his workplace.
