Food 101, a popular local eatery known for its artisan pizzas and homemade dishes, has permanently closed its doors. Located at 101 Chambersburg Street, the restaurant announced its closure on its Facebook page on August 30.
The restaurant, which opened in 2015, expressed gratitude to its patrons in a heartfelt farewell message. “Dear Loyal Food 101 Customers: It is with heavy heart that we inform you we have closed our doors for the foreseeable future,” the post read. “It has been a pleasure serving the Gettysburg community and we will miss you!”
This announcement follows a recent call for new hires earlier in the month, indicating the restaurant was looking to fill various positions, including servers and cooks. Food 101, a BYOB establishment, had been a staple in the local dining scene, offering a range of scratch-made cuisines, from sandwiches to entrees.
The restaurant did not provide a specific reason for the closure.
