Grace Ellen Nye (Bert), 90, a resident of Brookview at Menno Haven, formerly of Shippensburg, went to be with Jesus, on the morning of Thursday, May 12, 2022.
She was born on June 24, 1931, in Lurgan Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Ezra and Carrie G. (Hock) Bert.
Grace worked as an LPN, in private duty, as well as at the Chambersburg Hospital, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church and enjoyed quilting in her free time.
She is survived by two sisters, Annie Grove and Mary Shultz, both of Chambersburg; one brother, Alvin Bert of Lawrenceburg, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elwood Nye, who died on November 18, 1988; three brothers, Arthur, David, and James Bert; and three sisters, Naomi Reese, Martha Vereide, and Pauline Mowery.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church, Newburg. The Rev. David Halteman will officiate along with her niece, Pastor Doris J. Barr.
Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home.
Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
