Graybill improves her 200-meter record for Women’s Indoor Track & Field

Leah Graybill (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) improved her own school record in the 200-meter dash Friday night to highlight the first day of the 2023 Bison Open & Multi for the Shippensburg University women’s indoor track and field team at Bucknell’s Gerhard Fieldhouse.

Graybill ran a convincing time of 24.57 seconds, a healthy improvement of .16 seconds from her school record set last season. The performance came on the flat track at Gerhard Fieldhouse, which, upon conversion to an NCAA Championships equivalent banked or oversized track, registers as a time of 24.20 seconds that ranks her in a tie for fourth place on the national leaderboard.

Aliyah Serrano (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser (Mansfield)) improved her indoor PR in the 200 meters with an enhanced conference qualifier of 25.54 seconds. Caroline Mastria (Sykesville, Md./Century) ran 26.48 seconds.

Sasha Lee (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) and Melanie Barger (New Market, Md./Linganore) met the league standard in the 60-meter hurdles. Lee took fourth in 9.36 seconds after qualifying for the final in 9.25 seconds, while Barger was fifth in 9.44 seconds after running 9.41 seconds in the prelim (a new collegiate best).

Senior Ellie Kuhn (Port Deposit, Md./Perryville) achieved a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifier in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 10 feet, 6 ¼ inches. For Kuhn, the performance is a new lifetime best as a Raider, and the second straight year she has improved upon a PR at the Bison Open & Multi.

The distance medley relay of Kelsey Hull (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns Valley), Alyssa Wert (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley), Isabelle Gulgert (Herndon, Va./South Lakes) and Kyra Gerber (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) finished third behind Bucknell and Bloomsburg, posting a time of 12:38.80.

Day 2 of the 2023 Bison Open & Multi begins at 11 a.m. Saturday.
