by Ed Gotwals

Milton Hershey defeated Greencastle-Antrim 27-19 Friday at Kaley Field, scoring four rushing touchdowns while limiting the Blue Devils to 91 rushing yards. Greencastle fell to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the Mid Penn Colonial, while the Spartans improved to 3-4 and 3-1.

Shane Aycox scored twice for Milton Hershey in the first half. Spencer Long answered with touchdown runs of 1 and 44 yards, leaving Greencastle trailing 14-13 at halftime.

The Spartans scored the next two touchdowns, extending their lead to 27-13 on Kamari Cooper’s 5-yard run with 3:36 remaining. Gavin Logsdon connected with Iverson Stoner for a 21-yard touchdown with 1:37 left to bring Greencastle within eight points.

Logsdon completed 16 of 24 passes for 158 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Luke Hull had 52 receiving yards, while Long finished with 62 rushing yards.

Coach Jason Thurston said missed tackles and difficulty establishing the running game hurt Greencastle. The Blue Devils visit Trinity next week.
