A Greencastle woman and her young child have possibly been missing for three weeks, according to a Pennsylvania State Police state trooper investigating their disappearance.
Relatives and friends of Sonia Mohamed, 24, have not seen or heard from her since Sept. 26. Her three-year-old daughter Nahla is also missing, police said.
Troopers went to 13790 Molly Pitcher Highway in Greencastle last week to do a welfare check on the Mohameds but neither mother or child were there. PSP added both to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) data bank as missing persons.
An investigation showed both the mother and child had police contact on Interstate 81 in Augusta County, Virginia, on Oct. 5. At that time Sonia Mohamed reportedly told police she was traveling west toward an unknown destination.
Police believe Sonia is driving a silver-colored 2006 Buick Lucerne with a Pennsylvania license plate LNB9665.
Sonia Mohamed is 5’1″ tall and weighs about 200 pounds. Nahla is about three feet tall and weighs 25 pounds.
Police ask that anyone with information about Sonia and Nahla’s whereabouts contact them at the Chambersburg barracks, 717-264-5161. Reference Case # PA2021-1379560.
