Last week, approximately 30 retired officers from the Hagerstown Police Department completed their annual Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) handgun qualification.
LEOSA is a federal law that permits qualified active and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms in any U.S. jurisdiction, regardless of state or local laws, with certain exceptions.
The department thanked the retirees for their continued service and years of dedication to protecting the citizens of Hagerstown.
