Downtown Hagerstown will hold a public ceremony to bury a time capsule commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 24, at 9:30 a.m. in Public Square. Downtown Hagerstown is organizing the ceremony in partnership with the Antietam Exchange Club.
The time capsule is scheduled to be opened July 9, 2076. Members of the public may attend and witness the burial.
