Hannah Marsteller named PSAC Eastern Division Softball Athlete of the Week  

Hannah Marsteller, a graduate of Shippensburg University from Fredericksburg, Virginia, was awarded the title of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Softball Athlete of the Week by the league office on Monday. During the team’s 3-1 week, Marsteller was the leader in RBIs with eight and had a slugging percentage of 1.000. She also had a batting average of .571, went 8-for-14, and hit two home runs.

Marsteller set a school record for career runs scored with 170 during the sweep against Millersville, where she went 5-for-7 with three RBIs. She now has 172 career runs scored, ranking 11th for all-time career runs scored in the PSAC. Marsteller had multiple hits in both games, going 3-for-4 in Game 1 with an RBI and 2-for-3 in Game 2 with 2 RBIs.

During the split against Lock Haven, Marsteller had a slugging percentage of 1.286, reached base five times, and hit two home runs. She had five RBIs and drew two walks. In Game 1, Marsteller scored a two-run home run in the third inning, and in Game 2, she hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to extend the team’s lead.

Marsteller leads the PSAC and ranks seventh in the nation for slugging percentage (.904). This is her second recognition as the PSAC Eastern Division Softball Athlete of the Week.
