 Hester A Smith, 80, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 at her residence.

Hester was born in Berkley Springs, West Virginia on August 23, 1941, the daughter of the late Della (Moats) and Edgar J. Weller. 

She was the widow of James E. Smith whom she married in 1957 and he passed away on February 18, 2005.

She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA and Walnut Grove in Maddensville, PA. 

Hester was a seamstress at London Fog in Hancock, MD for twenty-six years and also at the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA for seven and a half years upon retiring in 1994. 

Mrs. Smith is survived by son Greg J. (husband of Pam) Smith, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, brother Edgar “Bud” Weller, of Needmore, PA, grandchildren Tony (husband of Amanda) Smith, of Chambersburg, PA, Brad (husband of Megan) Smith, of Mercersburg, PA, great grandchildren Kolen, Aubri, Kinsley, Atlen, Abby and Austin. 

Hester was preceded in death by her second husband George Locke, son Terry Smith, sister Elmeta Keefer, brothers Ernest and Bobby Weller. 

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements were made by the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
