Robert Ernest Thomson, 56, is charged with one count of criminal homicide in the 1:30 p.m. shooting of James Nicholas Leshko, 39, at their home in the 200 block of Walnut Street Monday.

Dauphin County Dispatch also reported a call from a man who told them he had just shot his roommate.

A trooper was able to connect with the caller, who said he would wait for police in the front yard. Troopers took Thomson into custody without incident when they arrived on the scene. He was formally interviewed at the PSP Lykens station before being arraigned at the Dauphin County Judicial Center.

Police obtained multiple search warrants and located the firearm used in the shooting inside the house.

Leshko was pronounced dead at the scene.

Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum  denied bail in the case, standard in a homicide case. Thomson’s preliminary hearing in the case takes place at 2:390 p.m. Sept. 20 before Margerum.

Thomson’s last name is spelled Thompson in court documents, but Trooper Megan Ammerman, Troop H public information officer, said the correct spelling is without the “p”, as it is spelled in a PSP news release.
