Mainstreet Waynesboro: It’s all about kids this weekend
It’s all about kids this weekend at downtown Waynesboro’s popular Market at the Park.
Mainstreet Waynesboro hosts its fourth annual Kids Vendor Day from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday as part of its summertime market experience.
The three-year-old market is held Saturday mornings at 25 E. Main St. in downtown Waynesboro.
Kids Vendor Day makes it possible for youngsters ages 16 and younger to take part in the market and experience some of the entrepreneurial spirit.
About 25 kid vendors will sell everything from homemade baked goods and jewelry to crayon erasers to lemonade.
“We really enjoy seeing the different creations that the kids bring every year,” said Mainstreet Waynesboro Director Bill Kohler.
“The market teaches the kids about hard work, preparation, customer service; and the ups and downs of retail and entrepreneurship,” Kohler said.
Many of the regular vendors will be in attendance as well.
Zoe Mason of Waynesboro will perform during Kids Vendor Day. Following Zoe’s performance, Mainstreet will host an open mic time for all kids 16 and younger. Email Market Manager Stephanie Baker at [email protected] to get your name on the list.
Market at the Park began in 2018 and has attracted thousands of visitors to downtown Waynesboro on Saturday mornings. It features all homegrown or hand-made sellers of produce, donuts, soap, candles, jewelry and more.
This year’s lead market sponsor is Middletown Valley Bank, which opened a new branch this year in Rouzerville at 11337 Buchanan Trail East.
