Mrs. Jacqueline M “Jackie” Sheffler (Lowman), 91, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, in her home.

Born February 28, 1931 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Thelma (Bowers) Lowman.

She and her husband, the late Herbert D. Sheffler, Sr., were married on December 17, 1949. Mr. Sheffler died on August 31, 2018.

In her early life, Mrs. Sheffler worked at Woolworth’s Candy Counter in Hagerstown. She later worked for over 20 years at giving out free samples at various grocery stores in the local area.

She was a member of American Legion Post #46 and V.F.W. Post #1599, both of Chambersburg.

Mrs. Sheffler enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.

She is survived by two children, Herbert D. Sheffler, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Littlestown, PA and Susan Sheffler of Chambersburg; her son-in-law, Tim Buchholz of Camden, NY; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Vincent Lowman of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Theresia E. Buchholz; one granddaughter, Kayla R. Buchholz; one brother, Robert Lowman; and one sister, Betty Socci.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in Mount Zion Cemetery, Mount Zion Road, Quincy, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
