The Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for the 2019 James P. Oliver Award. Forms are available at the Chamber office located at 217 East Baltimore Street; by calling 717-597-4610; or by downloading the form here.
Nominations are due August 31st.
The Chamber has presented this award since 1994 as a way to honor business associates, who through their company, have contributed personal time and involvement beyond normal community service.
Any business owner, manager, or recognized representative of a business located in the Greencastle-Antrim area, who promotes and provides extraordinary service to the community is eligible.
After all nominations are received by the Chamber, past recipients of the award confer and then present their recommendation to the Chamber for confirmation. A full listing of past recipients is listed on the Chamber’s website.
The award will be presented at the annual Chamber banquet on Thursday, October 3.
“This is a prestigious award because it offers special recognition to a person, or couple, that exemplifies the unique and special qualities exhibited by James P. Oliver,” Executive Director Georgina Cranston said. “We are indeed fortunate to have such people in our community.”
She said the selection process is also the means to continue to honor former recipients and express the Chamber’s ongoing appreciation for their contributions.
