Mrs. Jane Louise Crichton (Kohler), 93, formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Kansas.
Born July 22, 1928 in Gallitzin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Frank and Minnie Mae (Divins) Kohler.
She and her husband, the late Mr. James E. Crichton, were married December 14, 1947 in Johnstown, PA. Mr. Crichton passed away September 9, 2011.
Mrs. Crichton was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She also enjoyed baking and sewing.
She was a member of Pond Bank Independent Church where she taught Sunday school and was involved with Good News Club and other children’s ministries.
Mrs. Crichton is survived by three children, James A. Crichton of Chambersburg, Kathleen Mae Crichton of Abilene, KS and Patricia “Tricia” Thomas of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Cynthia I. Long who passed away July 10, 2007; three sisters, Alvasa Small, Evelyn Ager and Grace Hartzell; and two brother, Quintine “Sonny” Kohler and Robert G. Kohler.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro.
Burial will be private in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
