Janet Donahoe, age 88, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to God on May 30, 2023, at Brookview Health Care Center, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
She was a daughter of the late Mark T. and Arline Roher Donahoe.
A graduate of Wilson College and The Catholic University of America, she taught English and Latin in Pennsylvania and was a school librarian in Virginia.
For ten of her student years, starting at age 11, she was the organist for two Sunday Masses at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She also did volunteer work at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Buchanan Valley and at Menno Haven.
Survivors include: siblings and spouses Marian D. and John Connelly of Wyomissing, Michael and Sarah K. Donahoe of Mercersburg, Robert and Felicia H. Donahoe of Eden, UT; nieces, nephews and spouses Thomas and Linda M. Connelly of Sinking Spring, David and Rosangela G. Connelly of Philadelphia, Debra Donahoe and Michael McKenna of Scarsdale, NY, Susan D. and James Thompson of Portsmouth, RI, Todd and Marie Donahoe of Mercersburg, Christopher and Kimberly C. Donahoe of Roswell, GA, Amy D. and Allister Blanco of Roswell, GA; fifteen grandnieces and grandnephews; many cousins, and extended family Donald and Patricia Campbell of Frederick, MD, Alfred and Anne Haughn of Wilmington, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by aunts Delores H. (Mrs. Charles W.) Roher and Lois W. (Mrs. Donald E.) Roher of Chambersburg.
The Reverend Father Matthew Smith will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 10 o’clock.
Burial in Lincoln Cemetery will follow.
Arrangements are entrusted to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home.
