Janet L. Friese, 96, resident of Providence Place Senior Living of Chambersburg, passed away the afternoon of Monday, August 31, 2026.
She was born on June 28, 1930, in Newville, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel E. and Zora J. Crusey Wenger, Sr.
Janet attended the Lurgan United Brethren Church. She was an avid sewer, who enjoyed bowling and jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise A. (Steve) Gribble of Fort Mill, SC and Verda J. Henry of Hagerstown, MD; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Shelly) Wertz, Carly (Jeffrey) Miller, Stephanie (Steve) Fairfax, Jamie (Cory) Rouzer, Walt Carlson, Stacey (Bob) Stewart, and Candice (John) Krakuszeski; 14 great-grandchildren, Greyson, Brooklynn, Carter, Meadow, Kyra, Landon, Peyton, Zoey, Maci, Alexandra, Lauren, Taylor, Nathan, and Samantha; five brothers; and four sisters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Friese, who passed away on November 28, 2019. Also preceding her in death was one brother and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Arthur Page officiating.
Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
