Jaxon Dalena named to 2024 D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team

Shippensburg University’s Jaxon Dalena, a junior from Cogan Station, Pennsylvania, has been named to the 2024 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Baseball All-Atlantic Region Second Team as a starting pitcher. This season, Dalena emerged as the Raiders’ top pitcher, achieving a 2.52 ERA, which ranks fifth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and 17th nationally. He also recorded 78 strikeouts, ranking fifth in the PSAC, and maintained a .189 batting average against, the third best in the conference. His WHIP stood at 0.94, ranking him second in the region and seventh nationally, alongside a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 5.20, third in the region.

During his eight starts in the PSAC East, Dalena consistently allowed four earned runs or fewer. In the postseason, he delivered a standout performance in the PSAC Tournament, helping secure a victory over Seton Hill, a 2024 NCAA Super Regional qualifier, with a line of 6 innings pitched, 2 runs allowed, and 6 strikeouts.

Additionally, Dalena was recognized on the 2024 NCBWA All-Atlantic Region Second Team and the 2024 All-PSAC East Second Team. In other awards, Frostburg State’s Ethan Kiple was named the 2023 D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year, and East Stroudsburg’s Brent Francisco received the Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year.

The D2CCA promotes Division II athletics and sportsmanship as essential components of higher education, serving as a communication link among conferences and working closely with the NCAA.

Sharon M. Matthews 1951-2024

Sharon enjoyed game shows on TV, mostly Wheel of Fortune. She also liked watching the Food Network and talk about what they made.

Ralph V. Foltz 1928-2024

Ralph enjoyed hunting, telling stories, and traveling around the United States on bus trips, alongside his wife Lois.
