John Allison Public House Changes Hands

Flannery’s Tavern

As of April 1st, The John Allison Public House will be transferring ownership. John & Ame Flannery opened the establishment in 2010 in downtown Greencastle, which was partnered with Flannery’s Tavern in Mercersburg. In 2015, they were able to acquire the old Casey’s Bar & Grill, located at 155 S. Antrim Way.

After extensive renovations, the new location offers plenty of seating options, an extensive selection of draft beers, outdoor seating, over twenty high-definition televisions, and an enhanced menu. Catering and banquet facilities are also available.

The new proprietors

The new proprietors of the restaurant are Jeff Bruckhart and J Morgan. Jeff is a Mercersburg native and currently the general manager of the restaurant and has been employed at both Flannery’s Tavern and The John Allison Public House for the last 15 years. J is a Greencastle native and has worked in various roles at the restaurant; for the past 17 years he has been employed as a local radio personality.

John Flannery said “it has been a pleasure for Ame and I to serve our community and we humbly thank our loyal supporters, patrons, family and friends; I will continue to support the restaurant while serving you as your Franklin County Commissioner, while Ame continues to grow her business, The Dressing Room. Jeff and J have our utmost confidence to continue the standard of the John Allison name and take it to the next level” Jeff Bruckhart said “I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the hospitality industry throughout my career, J and I are extremely excited for this new opportunity; we look forward to continuing to provide great food, service, and a unique atmosphere to our community.

I have been working with John and Ame in some capacity since the start of The John Allison. I am looking forward to this new venture with Jeff and continuing to offer great food and service to our guests as well as being active in our community; we love the Greencastle community”!
