John C Duffey, 69, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at his home.
Born in McConnellsburg, PA, on December 4, 1953, he was the son of the late H. Lyle Duffey and Dorothy Alloway Duffey. He was a bank executive most of his career.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Bonnie Byers Duffey, he is survived by two daughters, Stacy Duffey of McConnellsburg and Jennifer (wife of Colin) Meanix of Downingtown, and two grandsons, Jaxon and Cameron Meanix. Two brothers survive: Thomas Duffey, McConnellsburg and James (husband of Crystal) Duffey, Fayetteville, as well as nieces Christina Duffey and Sydney Jackson and nephews Cogan Duffey and Luke Duffey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Duffey.
John served honorably in the Air Force from 1971 to 1975 and was past Commander of the American Legion Post 561. He earned degrees from Shippensburg University and Frostburg State University. During his professional career, he served numerous local and state civic organizations.
John was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing guitar and working on projects at home. He was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in McConnellsburg.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in McConnellsburg, PA.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
