John Robert Van Holt, Born January 12, 1933, passed away on May 7, 2022, at West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg, PA at the age of 89.

Son of the late John Henry and Cecelia (Fox) Van Holt and beloved nephew to his Great Aunt Mary Canning of Philadelphia, PA.

John is survived by his three loving daughters and son in-laws; Valerie and Dan Quiles, Monica and Wayne Campbell and Andrea and David Guyer. Nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and his former wife, Dorothy Van Holt.

John is the brother of George, James, Edward, Roberta, Cecelia and Genevieve.

John served in the U.S. Airforce, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He went on to work as a sheet metal finisher for several years. In his spare time, John enjoyed Art and Nature. He was an avid bird watcher and a Philadelphia Sports fan.

Having a great appreciation for fine Arts and literature. John had an expansive range of music interests from classical, jazz, Folk, Opera, rock and Native American. He observed several performing arts in the Philadelphia district and took great pleasure attending Native American Pow Wows in Fairmount Park.

He was known by his family for his witty and sharp sense of humor, his Artwork, and his enthusiasm for Sports.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial Services are at the discretion of the family.
