Joyce Ann Fleming, 80, passed away August 31, 2026, in WellSpan York Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence W. “Dewey” Fleming, and they observed their 36th wedding anniversary on June 8, 2026.
Born Sept 23, 1945, in Monkton, Baltimore County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Irene (Powers) Thomas.
She grew up in Monkton and attended Hereford High School in Baltimore County, Maryland. A resident of Concord, Franklin County, PA, since 2016, she formerly resided in Glen Rock and Green Village, PA.
Mrs. Fleming had worked as a nursing assistant in the Alzheimer’s Unit of the Chambersburg Nursing Home when it was Manor Care.
Joyce had attended Cross Keys Church of God with her husband. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, baking, watching game shows and riding in the country, especially through the mountains.
Surviving with her husband are 4 sons, Joseph Ross III (Barbara) and Steven Ross both of Potosi, Missouri, Kevin Ross (Candy), Stewartstown, PA and Robert E. Ross (Susan), Seven Valleys, PA. Also surviving are 3 stepchildren, Tina Marie Ascani (Svano), Bradenton, FL, Gary Lee Fleming, (Trisha) and Karen Sue Lineaweaver (Robert), all of Chambersburg, 7 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include her sisters, Loretta Mae Lehman of Parkton, Maryland and Janet Faye Hartel (Troy) of Stewartstown and a brother, Robert B. Thomas (Janice), Pearisburg, VA.
Her viewing will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, after 11 a.m. in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA, followed by the service at I p.m., with Pastor David Stewart, officiating.
Interment Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
