Joyce H Eyler obituary 1941~2021
Mrs. Joyce H (Honodel) Eyler, 79, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday morning, April 29, 2021, in her home.
Born July 31, 1941 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late David E. and Ethel L. (Miller) Honodel.
Mrs. Eyler was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1959.
She and her husband of over 61 years, Ronald E. Eyler, were married June 20, 1959 in Salem Church, Waynesboro, PA.
Mrs. Eyler was employed by the Social Security Administration in Chambersburg, PA, Orlando, FL, Daytona Beach, FL, Georgetown, SC and as a district manager in Lancaster, PA. She retired in 2000 after 36 years.
She was a member of Salem Church, Waynesboro and the Waynesboro and Millersville Lioness Clubs where she served as president.
Mrs. Eyler enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling, going to casinos and national parks and most of all spending time with her family. They spent 6 years living full time in an RV.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Laura Von Hillebrant and her husband Eric of Augusta, GA, David R. Eyler and his significant other, Amy Burton of Cascade, MD and Marilyn Barkdoll and her husband Mike of Waynesboro; a son-in-law Paul L. Rumbaugh, II of Stafford, VA; three grandchildren, Garic Von Hillebrant of Augusta, GA, Dylan Eyler and Danielle Durning and her husband Dylan both of Cascade; one great-granddaughter Hazel M. Durning; her twin sister and best friend, Jean Kahl of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Rumbaugh; a brother, David R. Honodel; a daughter-in-law Shanda Eyler; and one infant grandson, Deric Von Hillebrant.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
