Kathleen E. Witmer, age 91, of Greencastle, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Heritage Hills Retirement Home.
Born in Washington Township, PA on April 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ethel Nichols Kline.
Mrs. Witmer was a 1953 graduate of Greencastle- Antrim Senior High School. She worked most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of Hades Church of the Brethren and enjoyed fishing, playing Scrabble, flower gardening, and taking trips to Chincoteague.
Surviving are ten children, Leonard E. Witmer, Jr., Connie E. Horst, Douglas E., Mark D., Bennett E., George E., and Nelson H., Lois A. Sensenig, Daniel H., and Rebecca L. Hans; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Witmer, Sr. in 2015, grandsons, Brett & Trevor Witmer, granddaughter, April Witmer, great grandson, Brandon Bishop, three brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Shanks Church of the Brethren, 1175 Shanks Church Rd., Greencastle, PA, where Pastors Wilmer Horst, Dean Gearhart, and George Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225 and one hour prior to the service in the above church. Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery.
