Kaylene F Perry, 83, of Spring Run, went home to be with the Lord in Rodgers Home Care, Chambersburg, on June 4, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of Chester H. Perry.

Born February 2, 1938 at home in the village of Cedar Crest, Wayne Township, Mifflin Co., she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Verna (Wharton) Atherton.

She attended the former Captain Jack High School in Mt. Union. In 1983 she graduated from the Franklin Co. Vo-Tech School as a licensed practical nurse. 

Kaylene did private duty nursing, followed by employment with a pediatric office in Chambersburg for 18 years.

She enjoyed cooking, decorating, planting flowers and gardening.In her younger years she also liked hunting.Kaylene attended Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church in Spring Run.

Surviving are 4 children:  William R. Kerr of Shirleysburg;  Julie Ann Moore and her spouse, Amy, of Shirleysburg;  Susan Kay Miller and her husband, Steven, and Seth Perry and his companion, Peggy, all of Spring Run;  4 grandchildren, Jordan, Logan and Nicole;  2 great grandchildren, Alissa and Destiny and 1 great great granddaughter, Everleigh.   

Also surviving are 2 brothers:  Leslie Atherton and his wife, Connie, of McVeytown and Robert Atherton and his wife, Jeannie, of Orbisonia and 2 sisters, Phyllis Thompson and her husband, David, of Huntington and Shirley Reck of Mt. Union.  

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Kerr.

Funeral service Wednesday, June 9 at 11 a.m. in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run.  Viewing prior to service 10-11 a.m.  

Interment Upper Path Valley Cemetery.
