Kumho Recalls Solus TA11 Tires Due to Tread Separation Risk

Kumho Tire Co., Inc. (KTCI) has issued a safety recall for certain Solus TA11 tires, size 225/60R16, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recalled tires may experience tread separation, which can increase the risk of a crash. The issue means the tires do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139 for new pneumatic radial tires for light vehicles.

As part of the recall, Kumho will either refund the purchase price of the tire or replace the tires at no cost.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 3, 2026.

Consumers can check whether a tire is included in the recall by entering the tire’s brand name or model in NHTSA’s recall look-up tool. Those with affected tires should contact the manufacturer for additional details and information about the remedy.
