Laura Jean Carbaugh, age 87, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, PA.
Jean was born on December 13, 1934, in Mercersburg, PA, the daughter of the late Ernest and Kathryn Karper Bradley.
Jean married the late Charles J. Carbaugh who passed away on May 21, 2016.
Along with her husband Charles, they purchased a canned milk hauling truck and a coal truck. Charles and his wife continued in the can and bulk milk hauling business until 1994. In the 1960s, Charles and Jean opened Mt. Ayr Trailer Court, which remains in operation today. In 1974, they opened Carbaugh’s Coin Laundry that they operated until 2014.
Jean is survived by two sons, Charles (husband of Nadine) Carbaugh Jr. of McConnellsburg, PA, Roger Carbaugh of McConnellsburg, PA; one daughter, Darlene (companion of Floyd Peck) Seiders of Chambersburg, PA, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by husband of 61 years, Charles J. Carbaugh, her parents, Ernest and Kathryn Bradley, and her six siblings.
A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA at 1 p.m. with visitation from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. at the church.
Interment will immediately follow at Union Cemetery.

The family has entrusted Laura’s care to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, PA.
