The Cumberland Valley Business Alliance (CVBA) is pleased to announce an upcoming women’s leadership seminar titled “Leading From Where You Are.” The event, which is sponsored by F&M Trust, will be held at Green Grove Gardens on Thursday, May 19 from 8 to 11:30 a.m and will include a light breakfast and vendor booths for shopping and networking.
About Women’s Leadership Seminar
The event will feature three local business women sharing their own leadership development experiences including Beth Powers, Karen Horejs and Mary Ellen Waltemire.
Beth Powers had wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl, and that’s what she became. She also became a mom, homeschool teacher, the #11 Tupperware Consultant in North America and a Mary Kay Executive Sales Director (with a pink Cadillac). She now runs the Greencastle Golf Club and the Fireside Pub. In the middle of these many careers, she found herself leading church committees, Community Bible School, Bible studies and more. She will share how “Everything I learned about leadership, I learned in the 8th grade!”
Karen Horejs has life experience as a registered nurse, a top-selling real estate agent, and mother of five. Involvement with the local Boy Scouts of America allowed her to serve in various leadership positions, including as a board member of the Mason Dixon Council and Vice President of Membership. She has used her experience and success to help agents in her real estate office becoming an Operating Principle for Keller Williams Market Center. As she works in Greencastle and the surrounding area, she is committed to “Preparing Clients to Make the Best Life Changing Decisions.” She will be speaking on the “Six Personal Perspectives of STELLA.”
