After losing their daughter Leah to fentanyl poisoning in 2018, Mike and Robin Straley created Leah’s Legacy to honor her memory and support others in recovery from substance abuse. Over the past six years, the organization has assisted more than 1,100 individuals.
Leah’s Legacy recently received a WellSpan Summit Endowment grant, which will allow the organization to expand services at Leah’s Gathering Center. The center provides recovery support for women working toward sobriety.
In June, WellSpan awarded more than $464,000 in Summit Endowment grants to 14 community projects that align with its Community Health Improvement Plan. Leah’s Legacy was among the recipients.
Mike Straley said the grant will help the organization continue its mission of saving lives and supporting the community. He added that WellSpan’s ongoing support has been instrumental in helping the program grow.
