Leonard E Bingaman, age 78, of Clear Ridge, PA, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

Leonard was born on July 28, 1944, in Nova, PA, the son of the late George A. and Mary G. Rice Bingaman. Leonard married Nancy Rosenberry on October 28, 2010, in Berkeley Springs, WV.

Leonard served in the United States Air National Guard from 1966-1972, attaining the rank of Airman 2nd Class, when he received his honorable discharge.

Early in life, Leonard worked on various farms in the area. He then began doing masonry work, building several buildings in Hagerstown, MD; and also worked at Mack and JLG Industries later in life.

For a period of 14 years, Leonard managed the Greencastle VFW, before purchasing the Wooden Spoon Tavern in Maddensville, PA 1985. Eventually, Leonard sold the Wooden Spoon in 1999.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Nancy Bingaman of Clear Ridge, PA, one daughter, Kelly Bingaman of Knobsville, PA, two grandchildren, Taylor and Landon, three step grandchildren, Colton, Anylu and Casey, and one step great granddaughter, Ayla. Leonard is also survived by 6 siblings, Thelma Starliper of Chambersburg, PA, Elizabeth May Sharon of Chambersburg, PA, George Richard Bingaman of Chambersburg, PA, Doris Elaine Barnhart of Chambersburg, PA, Raymond Elwood Bingaman of Del-Ray, WV, and Janet Lavone Helman of Chambersburg, PA.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Bingaman, his first wife, Carolyn M. Bingaman (11/20/1987 – Deceased), and 5 siblings, Cora Irene Mills, Paul Edwin Bingaman, Charles Victor Bingaman, Meriam Virginia Poole, and Maxine Carol Walker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at My Father’s House Ministries in McConnellsburg, PA at 1 p.m. with visitation from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

The family has entrusted Leonard’s care to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, PA.
