Lloyd T. Todd 1940-2026

Mr. Lloyd Theodore Todd, 86, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at his home.

Lloyd T. Todd
Lloyd T. Todd

Born September 22, 1940, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late James H. and Gladys A. (Scott) Todd. A lifelong resident of the Greencastle area, Lloyd built a life centered on family, hard work, and finding joy in simple things.

He and his first wife, Anna R. (Burkett) Todd, were married September 2, 1958. Together, they raised six children and shared more than 50 years of marriage before her passing on April 2, 2009.

Love found Lloyd again in a place perfectly suited to him…a yard sale, where he was searching for his next treasure to refurbish and resell. There he met Wanda Altman, who became his companion for the next eight years and his wife just two months ago. Their years together were filled with companionship and laughter, as Lloyd delighted in telling jokes and stories that often left Wanda wondering whether they really happened or he was simply pulling her leg.

Throughout his working years, Lloyd was employed as a painter at Letterkenny Army Depot and worked in maintenance at Grove Crane Manufacturing until his retirement in 1999. He later spent many years working in security at Whitetail Ski Resort and also worked for a couple of years at Todd Auto Body.

Lloyd had a knack for seeing possibilities in things others might overlook. He was happiest tinkering in his garage, working on cars, lawn mowers, or anything he could bring back to life. Yard sales and auctions offered opportunities to find another project, and he enjoyed the satisfaction of making something useful again. In his younger years, he also enjoyed hunting.

Above all, Lloyd loved his family. He adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and his familiar words, “I love you more!” will remain a treasured memory. A happy-go-lucky jokester, he brought laughter to everyday moments and enjoyed spending time with those he loved.

Animals also held a special place in Lloyd’s heart. Over the years, he enjoyed the companionship of dogs and the occasional cat. His devoted dog, Lexi, had been by his side for the past ten years and was always ready to join him on an adventure. Chincoteague, VA, was a favorite family vacation destination as his children were growing up, and Lloyd continued to enjoy trips there whenever he could—even traveling by scooter with Lexi riding along in her crate secured beside his feet. She also accompanied him to auctions, where she would hop onto the seat of each lawn mower as though giving it her personal approval.

In addition to his wife, Wanda, he is survived by his six children: Jeff Todd and his wife, Connie, of Greencastle; Dennis Todd and his wife, Cheryl, of Greencastle; Tim Todd and his wife, Patty, of Greencastle; Anthony Todd and his wife, Gwen, of Doylesburg; Joy Keller and her husband, Kurt, of Mercersburg; and Scott Todd and his wife, Tanya, of Greencastle; a stepson, Donnie Altman, of Mercersburg; a stepdaughter, Rachel Jesson and her husband, Tommy, of Hagerstown, MD; 27 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a sister, Zeama Atherton, of Mercersburg, his sister-in-law, Darlene Youngblood; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, Anna, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Patrick M. Todd; a great-grandson, Christian T. Todd; and a brother, James R. “Jimmy” Todd.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, PA, with Pastor Joe Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of the service Monday evening in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.

Purple was Lloyd’s favorite color, and those attending are invited to wear their favorite shade in his honor…a colorful tribute to a man who brought so much joy to those around him.

Online condolences may be expressed at the funeral home’s website.
