Franklin County– In Pennsylvania’s rural Franklin county crowding in work camps, poor nutrition, and poor access to health care have together increased the incidence of TB among farm workers according to Dr. Edward Zuroweste, who runs a public health clinic here. “In the last five years, we have had as many cases in our farm worker population as the whole rest of the county—29 farm workers and 30 in the rest of the county,” he said.

“Telephone Rates in This District Not Boosted”
Chambersburg –– Contrary to belief here, and in fact, to the general situation, Chambersburg under the new long distance telephone ruling will suffer virtually no increase in rates and in some instances, decrease. In other places throughout the country, it appears the rates to advance by the ruling of the postmaster general, but not so in Chambersburg. And besides, Chambersburg has the largest free talking area of any town in Pennsylvania.
