Major Michaelann Andrusiak Promoted to Director of Office of Homeland Security In PA

Major Michaelann Andrusiak has been promoted to Director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security in Pennsylvania. This announcement was made today by Governor Josh Shapiro and Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris. Major Andrusiak, who has been with the Pennsylvania State Police since 2002, has been promoted from Captain to Major for this role.

Colonel Christopher Paris, the Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner, expressed his confidence in Major Andrusiak’s ability to serve the people of Pennsylvania and ensure public safety. He praised her decades of experience in law enforcement and protecting the Commonwealth against threats, as well as her high standards of trust and integrity throughout her career.

Major Andrusiak, who is a native of Berks County, PA, and now resides in Montgomery County, is excited about the opportunity to lead the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security. She looks forward to collaborating with talented and dedicated employees in various agencies to defend against emerging threats and to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth.

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security works in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Police, federal agencies, local governments, and the private sector to secure the Commonwealth against acts of terrorism and to ensure public safety. Major Andrusiak’s promotion comes after a distinguished career in law enforcement, including serving in the Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards, Internal Affairs Division, and most recently as the Director of the Drug Law Enforcement Division within the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Major Andrusiak is a 2000 cum laude graduate of Kutztown University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She is also a graduate of the 283rd session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.
