Man Charged After Gunfire During Disturbance at Williamsport Apartments

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 34-year-old man following a disturbance involving a firearm at Milestone Apartments in Williamsport.

Deputies responded to an apartment building on Oak Tree Lane at approximately 8:39 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, after receiving a report of a disturbance and a single gunshot.

Deputies located several people involved in the incident and recovered a loaded handgun inside one of the apartments.

Investigators determined that a verbal confrontation occurred on a third-floor landing before escalating into a physical altercation involving Timothy Blake Miller, 34, and another adult man.

According to the sheriff’s office, Miller allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband during the altercation. A struggle for control of the firearm followed, and the weapon was pointed in the direction of multiple people, including two juveniles. One round was fired and struck a nearby brick wall.

No one was struck by the gunfire. Miller was injured during the physical altercation and transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators determined Miller was prohibited from possessing a regulated firearm because of prior criminal convictions.

After his release from the hospital, Miller was taken to Central Booking and charged with four counts each of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

He was also charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony or violent crime, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, wearing or carrying a handgun, wearing or carrying a loaded handgun, knowingly altering a firearm identification number, illegal possession of ammunition and additional firearm-related offenses.

Miller is being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center.

All individuals charged with a criminal offense are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
