March 25th in History: The Formation of the European Union and the Top Hit Song of 1996

On this day in 1957, representatives from six European countries signed the Treaty of Rome, which established the European Economic Community (EEC). The EEC was later renamed the European Union (EU) and has since grown to include 27 member states. The EU is a political and economic union that promotes cooperation and unity among European countries.

The top hit song of 1996 was “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion. The song was the theme for the movie “Up Close & Personal” and became a massive hit, topping the charts in multiple countries. “Because You Loved Me” is known for its powerful vocals and emotional lyrics, making it a timeless love song.
