Margaret A “Peg” Forney Wolff 1930~2021
Mrs. Margaret A “Peg” (Patterson) Forney Wolff, 91, a resident of Paramount Senior Living, Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the nursing home.
Born February 6, 1930 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Ida (Smiley) Patterson. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
She and her first husband, the late Harry G. Forney, were married on December 24, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Forney died on May 6, 1994. She married her second husband, the late Melvin L. Wolff, Sr. on March 2, 1997 in Smithsburg, MD. Mr. Wolff died on July 16, 2002.
In her early life, Mrs. Wolff worked at the Waynesboro Shoe Factory. She was later employed for a short time at the Waynesboro Day Care. She retired in 1993.
She attended Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro and was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15 Ladies Auxiliary, William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. Post #695 Ladies Auxiliary – where she is past president, Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1758 Ladies Auxiliary – where she is past president, Pennsylvania Past Presidents of the V.F.W. and the National AARP.
Mrs. Wolff was proud to have exceeded her lifelong goal of living past her 90th birthday.
She is survived by one son, Darryll Forney, Sr. and his wife, Joyce of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Diane Rock, Dawndra Triesh, Darryll Forney, Jr. and Chubb Fuss; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Dennis Fuss of Waynesboro and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she as preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Fuss; one granddaughter, Denise Beck; two grandson-in-laws, Curtis Rice and Kenneth Triesh; four sisters, Mary Cline, Beulah Naugle, Josephine Hoover, and infant Pauline Patterson and three brothers, Jesse Patterson, Jack Patterson, and infant Charles Patterson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Mark Shover officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Tuesday morning, in the funeral home.
