Martha Jean Toms Barnhart 1927~2021
Mrs. Martha Jean Toms Barnhart, 93, of Chambersburg, died Saturday morning, July 17, 2021, at Providence Place, Chambersburg.
She was the wife of the late William Barnhart, who preceded her in death in 2000.
Born October 21, 1927, in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Ray R., Sr., and Etta Oberholzer Toms.
She was employed with and retired from Pet Ritz, Chambersburg, in 1992.
Mrs. Barnhart was of the Methodist faith.
She enjoyed the company of her grandchildren; and enjoyed bus trips with friends.
Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the auxiliaries with Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599, VFW; and Loyal Order of the Moose, 842; both of Chambersburg.
Surviving is her son, Jeffrey K. Myers and wife Darlene K. of Fayetteville; grandchildren Angie House and husband Adam of Shenandoah, Virginia, Jason Myers and wife Nora of Templeton, Heather Myers and companion Tyler Curfman of Mechanicsburg; six great grandchildren; and her twin sister, Mary Hissong of St. Thomas.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Barnhart was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachel M. Myers in 1991; and by seven sisters and six brothers.
The family will receive friends at William F. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, on Monday, July 26, beginning at 10 a.m.
The funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 11 a.m., with Rev Layne Miller-Vizthum officiating.
Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
